The construction of the Roman bridge in Córdoba took place during the first century, which was a period Roman rule in the city. Spanning across the Guadalquivir River, the bridge measures 331 meters in length and connects the two parts of the city. The bridge originally had 17 arches, but now consists of 16. It was a significant route during Roman times and may have been a part of the Via Augusta that connected Cádiz to Rome.
