If you think Benalmádena is all about beaches and a busy marina, wait until you head uphill to Benalmádena Pueblo. This charming white village sits above the coast like a hidden gem, filled with flower-draped streets, lovely plazas, and views that stretch all the way to the Mediterranean.

Benalmádena Pueblo, the old town, is a picturesque traditional Andalusian village located 250 meters above the coast. It offers a stark contrast to the beach area, featuring whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streets, and stunning panoramic views of the sea.

Start your day at the central Plaza de España, where you can browse local crafts and sample delicious tapas and wine. There’s a convenient lift for commuting between the lower and upper levels of the village. Be sure to visit the church and the Buddhist temple, and don’t miss El Muro Gardens, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the village and its surroundings.
